Joe Purcell

Vice President | Professional Services Practice Group

Joe Purcell leads the Professional Services Practice Group; the functional practice group within Ingenium that specializes in providing solutions to Back Office recruitment, across all industry segments. Joe’s principal focus is on executive and senior management recruitment for Financial Management (CFO, Controller, Finance Director, etc.), Human Resources, Audit and Supply Chain Management roles.

Joe has over 25 years of senior financial and management experience within top echelon organizations over diverse industries; primarily in Japan, where he has lived and worked for almost 15 years and been associated with for over 30 years.

Joe first worked as a Senior Auditor with KPMG in Honolulu, Hawaii and Portland, Oregon. He then began his career in Japan: first with Salomon Brothers Asia (Internal Auditor and Business Technology Organization Vice President – CFO) and then as Vice President – Technology Business Manager at Merrill Lynch Japan.

He was recruited back to Salomon Brothers in NYC, as the Director – Chief Administrative Office for Global Technology; following which he held senior management positions for World Internet Marketplace (Internet
shopping mall/network marketing services) and Marriott Hotels. While in the US, Joe additionally worked as a Financial Consultant/Sales Representative for Prudential Financial and MetLife Financial, before returning to Japan in 2004.

Upon returning to Japan, Joe has held senior positions with Aozora Bank, GTA by Travelport (world’s largest hotel wholesaler), Electrolux Japan and as Executive Director and CFO of Dun and Bradstreet TSR.

Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Registered Investment Advisor (previously) and has a BA in Accounting and a MBA in International Business. He is fluent in the Japanese language.
